Product Information
The model GRT12M is a three-phase cutting unit suitable for cutting thick technical fabrics and composite materials. Recently launched, it has a new “Monster series” motor housing and differs from other models as it has a motor housing held by a central foot which is fitted behind the blade. This system spreads the shearing stress and helps the machine move through the fabrics on both sides of the cutter, creating a perfectly straight and smooth cut.
The knife is half-free on both sides to avoid problems with fibres winding and becoming tangled, even when working with tough fibres. This is why the GRT12M is ideal for cutting composite materials like glass fibre, carbon fibre and Kevlar.
The three-phase induction motor is balanced and noiseless. It does not require regular maintenance so can be used during a 24 hour-a-day production process. This type of motor together with bronze/steel couplings ensures the cutting unit is reliable and durably.
The 8-edged 120 mm knife can cut up to 50 mm thickness even for multiple layers. High torque combined with a slow RPM of the knife means this cutter can even be used on rubber and plastic based materials for applications such as carpets and industrial flooring.
The push button sharpening stone allows the blade to be sharpened in less than 10 seconds without removing the knife. The aluminium base is Teflon® coated to reduce friction with the material and can be installed on sliding rails within a small space.
The GRT12M is ideal for transversal cutting and is arranged with an anchor flange to be easily adjusted on a fixed or automated hanger. For stepless trimming processes the model GRT12SM is also available in the left-side version (specular) as model GRT12SM. The low-cost maintenance and minimum handling costs make the GRT12M the most powerful and reliable cutting solution for any O.E.M. application.
